“Attorney Metrics” is a sophisticated web application designed specifically for law firms to enhance operational efficiency, track attorney performance metrics, and manage financial data effectively. Developed with a focus on intuitive user experience and comprehensive data visualization, the application empowers legal professionals to make informed decisions, streamline workflows, and maximize profitability.
Problem Statement: The client, a prominent law firm, sought a solution to streamline their internal processes, monitor attorney performance metrics, and gain insights into financial data effectively. They needed a user-friendly web application that could centralize diverse sets of data, including attorney bios, working metrics, financial information, and credit allocation details.
Solution: I conceptualized and developed “Attorney Metrics,” a comprehensive web application that offers a centralized dashboard with distinct sections catering to various needs within the law firm.
Key Features:
- Attorney Bio Section:
- Displays essential attorney information such as name, title, location, and law specialty.
- Includes hire date, income year, and equity year for each attorney, facilitating easy reference.
- Working Metrics:
- Provides insights into attorney performance metrics including compensation, Value of Time (VOT) worked, billed, and collected.
- Tracks billable hours, non-billable/creditable hours, total hours, and annualized figures to gauge productivity and efficiency.
- WIP, AR, Write Off, Rates, and Origination:
- Centralizes key financial data related to work in progress (WIP), accounts receivable (AR), write-offs, billing rates, and origination credits.
- Enables quick access to critical financial metrics, aiding in financial planning and decision-making processes.
- Credit Allocation Section:
- Allows users to select specific data points such as fees collected and choose time frames for analysis (e.g., year-to-date, last seven years).
- Facilitates transparent credit allocation and incentivization based on performance metrics.
